Stainless steel hose clamps, used to connect radiator hoses and other engine system hoses, are also useful in many other applications. In fact, they are so effective, easy to use, and versatile that they are similar to duct tape—often regarded as an all-purpose "fix-it" fastener.
How to tighten a stainless steel hose clamp?
1.Use a flathead screwdriver or hex key to rotate the hose clamp counterclockwise to open it. Keep turning until the clamp is loose enough.
2.Slide the hose clamp over the hose you need to secure. First, slip the hose onto the fitting, then position the clamp over the joint where they connect.
3.Rotate the clamp so that the drive (the tightening mechanism) is easily accessible.
4.With one hand, squeeze the clamp to let the end opposite the drive slide into the sleeve that holds the drive. Then, use the screwdriver or hex key to turn the drive clockwise, making sure the threads on the drive engage with the slots on the clamp. Keep turning the drive until the clamp is firmly tightened around the hose.
